Unveiled at CES® 2017, LG’s new flagship Door-in-Door® refrigerator features a 29-inch touch LCD display, which, thanks to its InstaView feature, instantly turns transparent with just two knocks of the screen and allows users to look inside the refrigerator without opening the door. Now with webOS, consumers can also explore a host of WiFi-enabled features directly on the refrigerator, creating a streamlined and powerful food management system all housed directly on the front of the fridge door.

Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service gives users access to an intelligent personal assistant that, in addition to searching recipes, can play music, place Prime-eligible orders from Amazon.com including groceries, add items to a shopping list and more. With over 6,000 skills available, Alexa can also control one’s smart home, request car service, set kitchen timers and check the weather – all hands-free by just using your voice. With Alexa, daily tasks in the kitchen – such as cooking or planning for the day – turn into a dynamic, entertaining experience.

An exclusive TV design project with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec Acclaimed design duo Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec’s 20 year partnership includes collaborations with leading design companies Vitra, Artek and Alessi. However, this is the first time they have worked within the world of technology.

The Bouroullec’s studio design practice combines various mediums including simple drawing, computer modelling and making 'hand made' mock ups with diverse materials such as wood and clay. A TV defined by a frame that outlines the screen The initial mock-up was made by carving wood and plastics, then made into an electronic product in the commercialisation process. The final product was designed in a shape that is almost identical to the first mock-up.

Most of the time, design is not about inventing functions but making them simple and accessible. The Bouroullec Brothers adopted this approach when re-designing the existing Samsung TV software, to create a bespoke experience and remote control. SERIF TV moves away from the logic of ultra-thin screens. Its presence is like an object that you can turn around and manipulate. It can even stand freely in the middle of the room.

In profile, SERIF TV forms a clear capital “I” shape. Its slim body broadens at the top to form a flat surface like a small shelf.

“Like typographers designing a letter, we studied both the object and its interaction with the space around it.” - Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Like pulling a curtain over the screen, a filter can be applied that gives an abstract impression of what is going on behind. When ‘curtain mode’ is active, viewers can access simple services such as a clock, Bluetooth speakers, apps and their photo gallery. SERIF TV can be positioned anywhere in the home. It can be placed on furniture, left freestanding, placed on a shelf and positioned in your living room or bedroom.

LG EA9800 OLED Curved TV

The LG EA9800 OLED TV produce astoundingly vivid and realistic pictures, thanks to superior WRGB technology. This unique Four-Color Pixel system features a white sub-pixel, which works in conjunction with the conventional RGB setup to create the perfect color output. The built-in Color Refiner delivers even greater tonal enhancement, resulting in images that are more vibrant and natural than anything seen before.

The 55 inch LG OLED TV also offers an infinite contrast ratio, which maintains optimal contrast levels regardless of ambient brightness or viewing angle. To complement the infinite contrast ratio and enable the richest color and deepest black expression, the LG EA9800 TV's High Dynamic Range (HDR) algorithm has been incorporated. This technology also ensures contrast ratio consistency and maximum color separation.

3D viewing experience on the LG Curved TV

LG’s Paper Slim design effectively unifies screen and stand into a seamless aesthetic entity. Meanwhile, Cinema Screen Design elements result in a narrow screen bezel which is practically invisible to the naked eye. A minimal bezel helps to produce a truly immersive 2D and 3D viewing experience. For installation versatility, the new LG Curved TV also ships with an easy-to-mount wall bracket that allows a single person to complete the entire installation. With less than a one-inch gap between wall and TV, LG’s design masterpiece can now be displayed like a true work of art.

LG Curved TV with Smart Touch Control

Additionally, Smart Touch Control further differentiates the curved LG OLED TV designs from competing models. This new feature results in a more attractive appearance and a better control experience. Located below the screen, the sliding touch key provides the user with an intuitive and elegant way to control the LG OLED TVs basic functions, such as changing channels and volume, and powering on or off.
