It will also be available with three new more efficient petrol engines. The range will comprise of a 132 hp 1.6 litre fourpot, a 147 hp 1.8 litre unit and a 152 hp 2.0 litre four-banger. The diesel engine options will carry over from the previous model and remain unchanged.

Lincoln features interiors inspired by the latest trends in contemporary home design and founded in the belief that automobiles have become "the fourth space," as people are spending significant amounts of time in their vehicles. First space refers to the home. Second space refers to the workplace. The third space is a leisure location such as a cafe and, in turn, the vehicle has become the fourth space.

"The new Lincoln vehicles clearly blend the best elements of architecture, craftsmanship, interior design and fashion design," said Giulio Capula, vice president and publisher, Architectural Digest.

Lincoln MKT Concept Brings the Beauty of Home into the Automobile

The new Lincoln MKT Concept, unveiled in January at the North American International Auto Show, brings the driver and passengers even closer to home by including many of the same features as the Lincoln MKS. In addition, it offers appointments such as four executive-sized, first-class chairs with rear seat footrests, soothing tone-on-colors, ambient lighting and flexible storage.

Designer Jennifer Hewlett added a plush, hand-knotted rug made from banana silk covering the floor and complementing the contrasting Creamy Pearl chromium-free leather seats, while Amy Kim, in charge of the elegant metalwork, contributed sculpted door handles with sparkling, curved dimples reminiscent of beadwork.

Joann Jung was responsible for the instrument panel and crystal-inspired center consol that runs the entire length of the vehicle to create a feeling of continuity between the upper and lower portion of the cabin, as if all the occupants of the cabin were sitting together in a living room. A patented solid-state lighting technology allows first-ever 3-D projection on a contoured surface and displays information using intuitive shapes and spaces on the center stack.

About the new MKT Concept's innovative interior, Jung said, "It's very personal to me. It's like opening my own room to the public. But I want to share it."

Mercedes Benz GL-Class

The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (code name X164) is a full-size crossover SUV built by the German carmaker Mercedes-Benz since 2006. The GL-Class debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show.

The car was designed for the American market, which is shown by its large size, making it the only similarly-sized rival up against Audi's Q7 by that time. It is the 7-passenger counterpart of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Although the car was designed for the US market, it is also sold in Europe, albeit in far fewer numbers.

A vision in chrome, the GL gleams with authority with its numerous chrome elements, from the roof rails to the chrome fog lamp surrounds. The redesigned radiator grille and bumpers add to its visual impact.

Together with the twin-pipe exhaust system integrated in the rear bumper and new-design alloy wheels, they underscore the GL’s aura of power. Further visual highlights include its new daytime driving lights and LED tail lights.

Mercedes Benz My-B : B-class

"When I joined Peugeot 10 years ago, many people didn't know where Korea was. But now it's totally different," says Koo Min-chul, the only Korean exterior designer to work at Mercedes-Benz' headquarters in Germany. Koo is in charge of designing the cars' exteriors, one of the most coveted jobs among car designers.

In 2001, he became the first graduate of a Korean university to join a European carmaker, and now he finds himself at the heart of the global automobile industry. An industrial design graduate from Hongik University, he is due to unveil the first car he designed at the end of the year.
