Mercedes Benz GL-Class
The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (code name X164) is a full-size crossover SUV built by the German carmaker Mercedes-Benz since 2006. The GL-Class debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. 
The car was designed for the American market, which is shown by its large size, making it the only similarly-sized rival up against Audi's Q7 by that time. It is the 7-passenger counterpart of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Although the car was designed for the US market, it is also sold in Europe, albeit in far fewer numbers.
A vision in chrome, the GL gleams with authority with its numerous chrome elements, from the roof rails to the chrome fog lamp surrounds. The redesigned radiator grille and bumpers add to its visual impact. 
Together with the twin-pipe exhaust system integrated in the rear bumper and new-design alloy wheels, they underscore the GL’s aura of power. Further visual highlights include its new daytime driving lights and LED tail lights.

"When I joined Peugeot 10 years ago, many people didn't know where Korea was. But now it's totally different," says Koo Min-chul, the only Korean exterior designer to work at Mercedes-Benz' headquarters in Germany. Koo is in charge of designing the cars' exteriors, one of the most coveted jobs among car designers.
In 2001, he became the first graduate of a Korean university to join a European carmaker, and now he finds himself at the heart of the global automobile industry. An industrial design graduate from Hongik University, he is due to unveil the first car he designed at the end of the year.
